The 1986 United States Open Championship was the 86th U.S. Open. The event was held from June 12-15 at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Shinnecock Hills, New York. Raymond Floyd, who at one point was one of nine golfers tied[1] for the lead during the fourth and final round, won his first U.S. Open championship and fourth major title by two strokes over Chip Beck and Lanny Wadkins.
